All classes are currently held at Viables Craft Centre. The Harrow Way. Basingstoke. Hampshire. RG22 4BJ.

How much are your classes?
Take a look at the Book a Class page to see a selection of classes. Classes start from £30 per person.

How long are the classes?
This depends on the subject. Each class is listed with a date and time in the Book a Class section of the site.

What happens if I don’t finish in time?
I aim to have classes finish as close to the allocated end time as possible. Sometimes though, classes will over run. If you are behind you can continue working as I clear the room

Are the classes suitable for beginners?
Nearly all of the classes I offer are suitable for beginners. Please feel free to get in touch if you’d like to discuss whether a class is suitable for you.

Will my cake or cupcakes look like yours?
Yes and no, even I couldn’t recreate a design exactly! I aim to teach you how to create decorations from scratch using just your hands, so there is always a margin of change from one piece to the next. You also have to take into account your skill level. Having said that I always strive to get you as close to, or even better than the original course design (yes that has happened, I get cake envy sometimes too). My aim is to get you comfortable with sugarcraft and for you to feel confident to go on and achieve more.

Do I need to bring anything with me to the class?
Unless otherwise stated on the class information, ALL materials are provided for you. So you can just turn up and enjoy a day of caking.

I’d like to attend one of the Cake Decorating classes which mentions we will be decorating a Dummy cake. Can I work on a real cake?
Of course, I encourage you to do this. That way you get to enjoy it later. Please book your space using the online booking system and use Coupon “NO DUMMY”. A discount will be applied to the order.
For this option, you will need to bring your own ready iced cake, ready to decorate, a board and box.
I’ll follow this up with an email which will let you know specifically the items you need to bring to the class, along with a recipe.

I’m attending a full day class, do I need to bring lunch?
Yes, please. There is also a tea rooms on site, which sells sandwiches and cake (yum)

How long are the lunch breaks?
Around 30 minutes. You may stay in the classroom and eat your lunch.

Do you offer Children’s classes?
No, however Children over the age of 8 are welcome to attend any class provided there is an adult present.

Do you teach Private Lessons?
Yes, indeedy. Private classes are held in my amazing purpose built Cake Cave, AKA my kitchen.

What can I learn at a Private Lesson and how much will it cost?
That is entirely up to you. Tell me what you’d like to learn and I can design a class for you. Privates Lessons start from £125 for a 3 hour class

I take allergies very seriously, and as such I cannot guarantee that the items used in the class would be safe for you. Please feel free to get in touch with me to discuss this further, I will do everything I can to ensure your needs are met.

I’m vegetarian, are the materials used suitable?
Yes, yes and yes. I’m also a veggie. So I make sure to use vegetarian products where possible. Unfortunately the only class that will not be suitable are the sugarcraft flowers, as there is gelatine in the icing 🙁
